Reservoir Information The 1,550-acre Turtle Creek Reservoir was created in 1980 to provide cooling water for Hoosier Energy’s Merom, Generating Station and was opened to the public for fishing in 1982. Since that time, Turtle Creek has matured into a popular regional fishing and waterfowl hunting recreation spot.
Fishing Rules & Regulations for Turtle Creek Reservoir
Park Gates open at 6:00am
Everyone is required to sign a Liability Release at the Park entrance and pay $5.00 per person 65 and over $1.00 Credit Cards / Debit Only.
- Turtle Creek users must hold a valid fishing license and follow all posted regulations, as well as State and Federal fish and wildlife laws.
- A 20-inch minimum size limit for keeping is in effect for largemouth bass, with a daily limit of one.
- Boat ramp and parking are available on a first come basis.
- Boat launching is permitted only at boat ramp.
- No limit on motor size (NEW) (IDLE SPEED ONLY, NO WAKE)
- Authorized fishing areas are noted on map, that will be will provide at Check-In. All other areas and property of Hoosier Energy are off limits. Do not cross over or cast across buoy lines.
- Indiana Fish and Game regulations apply unless otherwise noted.

All fees will be collected at the boat ramp as part of the check-in. Cash Only

Lines Out: 2:30PM
Weigh In: 2:30PM – 3:00PM at the Boat Ramp
2 Man per boat Maximum, Single Man Allowed
Bag Limit: 3 Fish per boat ONLY 1 Fish 20″ per angler. Virtual Fish “Limit 16” Minimum.
Calibration of Individual Scales will be done at Check-in.
