Raccoon Lake is 2,060 acres and roughly 11 miles long. The average depth is 24 feet, with the deepest part near the dam around 70 feet, filled with amazing fish to be caught. Anglers will find excellent raccoon lake fishing opportunities here.

Watercraft Registration and Permits
All watercrafts must be registered and numbered within 31 days of purchase. Registration numbers must be displayed on the forward half of the watercraft on both sides above the waterline and read left to right. The numbers must be in BOLD block letters at least 3 inches high in a color contrasting to the hull and be readable from 100ft.
The watercraft registration decal must be renewed every year and displayed within 6 inches of the registration numbers on the port (left) side of the boat. A lake permit MUST be displayed on your boat. Permits can be bought at the Raccoon State Recreation Area front gate or online at https://stores.innsgifts.com/
Boating Accidents & Safety
Accidents must be reported to the local Sheriff’s department or Conservation Officers. Reckless or careless operation of a vessel can result in jail time or tickets. Watercraft operating in speed zones posted as “Idle Speed – No Wake” must maintain minimal wake while maneuvering safely.
Traffic Rules

When two boats are approaching “head to head,” each boat bears to the right and passes on the left.

When boats approach at angles, the boat on the right has the right-of-way. Sailboats or nonmotorized vessels always have priority if applicable.

A boat may overtake and pass another on either side if done safely.
Boating Under the Influence: Operating a watercraft while impaired by alcohol or drugs is against the law. Blood alcohol level of 0.08 or higher is considered over the limit.
Boater Safety & Education: Be aware of watercraft capacity, and ensure everyone onboard has Coast Guard-approved life jackets. Operators under 15 years old must complete the online Boater’s Education Class to legally operate a watercraft.

Tournament Information:
This is an Open Event. Pass the word! Members of the Tri-State Finest Fishing (TSFF) & Indiana Armed Forces Fishing League (IAFFL) will accrue seasonal points while enjoying raccoon lake fishing tournaments.
Entry Fee:
All fees collected at the boat ramp unless paid in advance as part of the check-in. Everyone must check in even if paid in advance. Cash only.
$60.00 Per Boat:

Nonmembers of Tri-State Fishing will have a $20 surcharge per team. After 3 events, your team becomes a full member.

Armed Forces Fishing League Members are waived from the surcharge.
Big Fish Optional Pot: $20.00 per team, winner, take all.
